3rd Place today. But gained a big enough lead to maintain 2nd overall! Some really close racing today with teams finishing seconds apart. The heat was soo hard to deal with once again. Today I had stomach troubles and was throwing up my food and water a lot.
It is very difficult to race at normal intensity because the rising core body temperature needs to be caefully controlled. Really easy to blow the top off the pressure cooker within me.
Final results: 2mins 30secs behind 1st Place THULE Adventure Team 1 over 3 days. 3rd place (Team Tasmania) were behind by around 10mins so were safe today when we ended up having a sprint with them theat ending in them throwing up.

Today was a 23 Mountain Bike where we carried/pushed out bikes up a rocky steep mountain (nearly exhausted myself at that point), 10km kayak amongst a labrinth of channels in a dam, 2km run, 13.5km Mountain bike with bike carry sections and deep river crossing, then a 7km steep and hot run to town. There we were meant to do a flying fox across the river but it was cancelled. We were fine with that, but while they explained the change to use, other teams caught up and hence the 700m sprint finish. Heat/body exhaustion at its worst.
We are really stoked with our result never the less and look forward to collecting the prize money, of course.
EXCELLENT Sam . . roll on Augusta
